Donations
In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to consider donating to one of the organizations below. Each was selected as they represent an important part of George’s life and will meaningfully contribute to the care and well-being of others.
The family is still confirming a few additional organizations George supported. This page will be updated as they are added.
Stanford Medicine
Donations can be made in memory of George Derbalian to The Cancer Discovery Fund online, or by mail to Stanford University Development Services, P.O. Box 20466, Stanford, CA 94309-0466.
- Giving online: the form opens on a different fund. Under designation, please choose “The Cancer Discovery Fund.”
- Giving by mail: make checks payable to Stanford University.
- Include a note with the check, or write on the memo line: “In memory of George Derbalian for The Cancer Discovery Fund.”
The American Cancer Society
Donations can be made in memory of George Derbalian to The American Cancer Society online.
- Select “I want to dedicate my donation.”
- Enter George Derbalian.
St. Andrew Armenian Church
Donations can be made in memory of George Derbalian at the church on the day of the funeral service. For those unable to attend who would still like to give in George’s name, donations can also be made online.
- The link already fills in “In memory of George Derbalian.”
- Please change Donation Category to “Other Donation.”
Hospices Civils de Beaune
Donations can be made in memory of George Derbalian to Hospices Civils de Beaune, a hospital in the Burgundy region of France, through the Friends of Fondation de France.
- Select “Dedicate the donation” in memory of George Derbalian.
- Under Project/Organization, enter Hospices Civils de Beaune.
Stanford Jazz Workshop
George loved music, and jazz above all — he supported Stanford Jazz Workshop year after year and was at the shows whenever he could be. Donations can be made in his memory to support their concerts and their summer programs for young musicians.
